How to protect your skin on vacation
Whether you’re a parent who is escaping with your family to someplace warm and tropical or if you are just taking yourself on a much-needed holiday break vacation, the last thing that you want to happen is to come home with sun damage. To help keep your skin safe and protected while you’re our enjoying water activities or spending a day at the beach, we have created a list of a few tips.
Pack enough Sunscreen
There are so many options when it comes to sunscreen, but make sure that you pack a sunscreen for facial use and a sunscreen for body use. For facial use, we love EltaMD’s UV facial sunscreen because it helps calm and protect sensitive skin types prone to acne, rosacea and discoloration. This mineral-based face sunscreen is lightweight and silky. For body use, EltaMD UV Lotion full-body sunscreen protects your skin from head to toe and hydrates the skin at the same time.
Reapply Sunscreen every two hours
In addition to packing a couple different kinds of sunscreen, make sure that you also apply your sunscreen every two hours on average; especially if you are doing water sports or activities. Because water is reflective, it can put you at a higher risk for a sunburn.
Cover Up
If you’re going to venture into the water, whether it’s in the ocean or in the pool, you’ll be wearing a bathing suit which will protect your skin from the sun. However, your exposed skin should have sunscreen applied. Apply your sunscreen and wait at least a few minutes before entering the water to let it set.
